Eddy Jara manages the County of Riverside’s Tobacco Control Project. Through the Riverside University Health System’s Public Health Department, he works to facilitate partnership-driven policy work to advance tobacco industry-free communities.

For his doctoral dissertation at UC Berkeley, he looked at how middle school students and their parents used their talents and assets to improve their school food practices. At the Loma Linda University School of Public Health, he taught courses in community health interventions and health policy; he helped start the Food Policy Advisory Council serving San Bernardino County and organized student-run gardens at LLU and Sherman Indian High School.

Eddy plays Andean folk music and a serves as a youth soccer referee.
