We are proud to bring this exciting event to our existing and future members.  Comprised of five curated sessions, the Planners4Health California promises to be a one of a kind opportunity for planners and public health advocates to come together in the virtual space.  Registration for the Mini-Conference is free. 

​Attendees for the full APA California Virtual Conference can elect to attend any or all the sessions identified as Planners4Health on the main program as part of their registration.  ​

This session, hosted by a stellar team of Riverside University Health System's public health practitioners, includes a general overview of the public health profession; how it intersects with planning; how planners and public health professionals collaborate and utilize resources to acquire public health competencies.

Can you PHEAL it? Planning for Health Equity, Advocacy and Leadership
Join a unique conversation about a "collective impact" effort conceived as a result of COVID-19. The Planning for Health, Advocacy and Leadership Guiding Principles aim at elevating health and racial equity through understanding, collaboration, healing and action. An ad hoc group of 80 + professionals in the fields of planning, design, architecture and public health convened multiple times to develop this document. Many of them are members of APA California.

Adopting Health and Social Equity in Planning & Real Estate: Capitalizing on Opportunities. Health and social equity are increasingly areas of interest in planning and development, however mainstream adoption requires demonstrating the value proposition of such practices. This workshop challenges participants to identify effective tools to adopt health and social equity practices and measure the value of their impacts.
