Mrs. Bishop has over thirty-five years of experience in a variety of fields related to public health, emergency medical services, fire and emergency management. She holds several degrees and certifications including, a Masters in Emergency Management, Certification in Homeland Security, Continuity Practitioner, Emergency Management Professional, Master Exercise Practitioner and Public Health Preparedness.
She serves as a Type 1 Planning Section Chief for the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response for Emergency Support Function 8 assets. As a Planning Chief she has been deployed to Sandy, Isaac and Haiti and most recently the COVID-19 response. Mrs. Bishop has been a consultant to FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness providing input of variety of emergency management, Hazardous Materials and WMD training and exercise programs. She has served on the Governor’s taskforce for disaster preparedness in the community colleges Mrs. Bishop has authored articles and given national conference presentations on disaster medicine, planning, public health and emergency management. |
