Bill Sadler, Director of Operation at the Public Health Alliance of Southern California manages projects and internal operations at a coalition of the executive leadership at eight local health departments in Southern California, representing half of the State’s population. Bill assists with building the capacity of Alliance members to advance policy and systems changes on community development, prevention financing, transportation, land use, housing, water and other climate and sustainability issues. Prior to joining the Alliance in May 2017, he worked for Safe Routes to School National Partnership, where he led the organization’s California state policy and Southern California regional policy. Bill also worked with communities and regions around the country on sustainable transportation and healthy communities initiatives at both Reconnecting America and the Natural Resources Defense Council, and as a city planner with the City & County of Denver, helped develop one of the first complete streets policies and first health impact assessments on a transportation project. Bill has over a decade of experience working on public health, transportation and built environment initiatives across the United States. Bill holds a Master’s degree in urban planning (M.U.R.P.) from the University of Colorado Denver, as well as a law degree (J.D.), cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, and a B.A., summa cum laude, in economics and communication from Boston College.
