Anita Au is an Associate Regional Planner at Southern California Association of Governments and specializes in environmental justice and CEQA. Prior to joining SCAG, Anita has worked as a CEQA consultant for MIG-Hogle Ireland. While earning her B.A. in Urban Studies and Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Irvine, she also worked with various organizations on environmental planning including Caltrans District 12, SCAG, OCTA, and City of Irvine. Her primary focus in her studies and early work experiences was in environmental planning but became interested in environmental justice four years ago after staffing a SCAG workshop on the topic. Since then, Anita has taken a special interest in environmental justice and is dedicated to promoting SCAG’s EJ efforts and working on securing a permanent and on-going Environmental Justice Program at SCAG. She is now the project lead for SCAG’s Intergovernmental Review Program and coordinator for SCAG’s Environmental Justice Working Group.
